Main Ridge Forest Reserve

Located in north-east Tobago, the Main Ridge Forest Reserve is one of the oldest protected forests in the world and home to an astounding number of plants and animals, including several endemic species.

Little Tobago island

Located about a mile off the mainland’s north-eastern coast, this protected island is one of the best places to see native and migratory seabirds in Tobago.

Gilpin Trace trail

This trail takes you through the heart of the ancient forest, allowing for plenty of opportunities to spot some of its avian treasures, including the rufous-vented chachalaca, Tobago’s national bird.

Argyle waterfall trail

Walk along this short trail to Argyle falls, the only three-tiered waterfall on the island. Go for a refreshing dip in the deep pool at the bottom of the falls.

Scarborough

Overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, the buzzing port town of Scarborough is a great place to sample Caribbean cuisine and join locals for a ‘lime’ (Tobagonian slang for socialising) in a street corner bar.

Fort King George

Built in the late 18th century, this hilltop fort and adjacent museum tells the story of Tobago’s colonial past. Enjoy breathtaking views over Scarborough and Rockly Bay below.

Speyside

This historic village is the starting point for boat trips to Little Tobago island and many dive sites. Don’t miss the historic water wheel located just outside of town.

Bon Accord lagoon

Located on the south-west coast of Tobago, this shallow lagoon is known for its mangrove forests and wetland habitats, where you can see egrets, herons and kingfishers.

Adventure Eco Villas

Stay at this organic farm to experience Tobago’s birdlife up close. A covered observation platform ensures prime viewing for seeing many species of hummingbird, including the ruby-topaz.

Corbin Local Wildlife Park

Established by local farmer Roy Corbin, this park stretches across 20 acres of lush forest and is home to an array of rescued mammals and reptiles, including armadillo, agouti and boa constrictor.

Tobago Cocoa Estate

Pioneered by Tobagonian Duane Dove, this estate grows a variety of cocoa beans on the hills of Roxborough. Join a guided tour and taste some of their award-winning chocolate.

Pigeon Point beach

This long stretch of white sand beach with azure waters is one of the most beautiful on the island. And it’s the home of the Tobago Jazz Festival and Dragon Boat Festival.

Lovers’ Bay

Famed for its attractive pink sand, this sheltered beach on the north-east coast of the island is a gorgeous spot to visit on your honeymoon or romantic getaway.

Buccoo Bay

Located next to the fishing village of Buccoo, this sandy beach has calm, clear waters that are ideal for swimming and snorkelling. There’s horseback riding along the shore too.

Nylon Pool

Half a mile from the shore, this shallow pool offers incredible snorkelling opportunities. The water is shockingly blue and teeming with marine life.

Turtle Beach

Between the months of March and September, visit this sandy beach to watch nesting leatherback turtles come ashore to lay their eggs.

Strong currents and unpredictable seas can make this site challenging, but there’s the chance to see many different kinds of shark, as well as tarpons, barracudas and turtles.
